The boiling hot water tap has become one of the latest popular kitchen gadgets. Having instant hot water for hot drinks and filling up pans for cooking is a great convenience and has the bonus of clearing the kitchen worktop from the clutter of a kettle.
The market has a range of different appliance models with an ever-growing list of functions. At its basic and perhaps most useful, is the 3 in 1 tap that dispenses regular hot and cold water plus a filtered boiling water option. There are also now taps offering 4 in 1 functionality which have the addition of filtered cold water and 5 in 1 functionality with sparkling cold water too. Bear in mind that the addition of extra functions often means that more space is required to house the technology under the sink.
Boiling hot water taps are now available from many leading tap brands and the prices vary enormously. Some of the models are retailing for around £2000 which can be hard to justify, but here at Stainless Hub we are pleased to be able to offer a great value, stylish-looking boiling hot water tap system from Scott & James for just £605.
When deciding to stock and sell a boiling hot water tap we liked the design of this Scott and James model as it looks like a normal kitchen tap, not big and bulky like some on the market. We were also keen to make sure that we offered a hot water tap with the right safety features. There should always be a safety child lock so that children are unable to easily activate the boiling water function as scald prevention, and we wanted to ensure that the spout of the tap was well insulated so that it remains cool to touch at all times. Our tap has separate flow technology within the spout which helps to keep it cool.
The boiler for these taps usually sits in the cupboard under the sink. The boilers can vary in size and capacity and you should consider how many people you have in your household or office before selection. Our Scott & James tap has a 2.4 litre capacity which delivers 1.9 litres of boiling water, which then takes around 4 minutes to reboil. It’s fairly compact in size to easily fit into a standard kitchen sink base unit at just 360mm high and 254mm wide. The boiler has an adjustable temperature setting and it filters the water that runs through it too, which is a great benefit, especially in hard water areas.
We were also keen to source a tap that doesn’t splutter and so our tap only reaches 98 degrees centigrade, a temperature perfect for hot drinks but not quite at boiling point.
We hope this gives you some guidance when sourcing this latest kitchen appliance. Check out more details on the hot water taps from Stainless Hub here.
